Why Accessibility Matters

In today's world, websites are often the first point of contact.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of websites are inaccessible to people with disabilities.

Certainly, making your website accessible to as many people as possible is the right thing to do - but there are compelling economic reasons to do this as well. Focusing on how people with disabilities use websites will help guarantee you're not inadvertently giving clients and consumers the impression that you're not concerned about accessibility.

When you take into account the fact that as many as 20% of the population has some form of disability, it's difficult to make the case that a company's website shouldn't be accessible.

Litigation over access issues has also become common. In the last three years, we've seen an exponential rise in the number of companies and government sites that have retained our services due to potential lawsuits. And the trend is continuing, In 2015, there were more than 40 web accessibility lawsuits filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
